Our district checks with Environment Canada when making decisions about school and bus cancellations. We understand that the readings on Environment Canada do not always agree with Accuweather or the Weather Network but this is the source our district uses.
Further to the information provided above, the first bell for students to enter the IRIC building is at 8:30 am, with classes beginning at 8:40 am. Supervision starts at 8:20 am and if the temperature is at or colder than -25 with windchill we will allow students to enter the boot rooms to wait rather than stay outside. This is the same temperature we use for deciding whether or not students will stay inside for recess. Please make sure you dress your child for the forecasted weather each day. The weather often warms up enough by our 11:00 am morning recess or our 12:30 pm lunch recess to allow for students to go and play and get fresh air.
